Useful Information

Foreign Exchange
Local Currency: Sri Lankan Rupees
ATM Machines are available in major cities and Credit cards accept most of the hotels and shops. Travellers cheques can be exchange in any bank but it will take little time because there are some forms to fill. US $, UK £ and Euro € are recommended currency for exchange.

Tipping
Tipping is common in Sri Lanka. If you appreciate, the efficiency and the service you received please do consider the tipping local staff. Your tour leader will give you good advice regarding this matter.

Visa requirements
Entry Visas are available for UK, USA, CAN, NZ, AUS, & MOST OF THE EUROPIAN COUNTRIES on arrivals. Other countries please contact your travel agents or counsellor office.

Vaccinations and Protection
We recommend protection against Malaria, Polio, and Infectious Hepatitis. Good mosquito and insect repellent recommend bringing with you. Most of the hotels provide mosquito repellent and nets.

Luggage
Total allowance 20 kgs. Make sure you have you name tags with your luggage. One main luggage and a small daypack recommend

Clothing
Bearing in mind that Sri Lanka is a tropical island and your cloths pack mainly for hot conditions. Lightweight rain wear and something for up land area’s cooler condition recommend. When visiting religious places you will need to dress respectfully by covering you knees and taking off your shoes and hats. If you have thick pair of socks very handy to wear during the temples and other sites visits as the ground can get very hot. Lightweight shoes and sandals recommend for footwear.

Equipments
A water bottle, Small torch, your personal medicine, Extra towel, Sun cream, Sun glass, Battery charger, Small Umbrella, Mosquito and insect repellent, Multi plug swim kit etc…

Confirming and payment of your Holiday
Upon receipt of a confirmation e-mail, please pay the respect amount to our bank account via bank transfer. We require a deposit of 10% of the tour value. This we charge as for our administrative cost to organise your tour. Rest of the payments we will collect once you arrive in Sri Lanka. Customer must pay all bank charges in the case of a bank transfer. There will be no additional postage fees or booking fees.

Cancellation by You
Any of you wishing to cancel the booking with Holiday Lanka travels must immediately notify Holiday Lanka Travels in writing.
If you are in a group, please ask your tour leader to inform us as soon as possible in writing.
The following maximum individual cancellation charges will apply, for any unrecoverable costs and admin charges: Up to 21 days prior to departure: Loss of deposit.

Cancellation by Us
We care your holiday very seriously. However we reserve the right to cancel your holiday because of unforeseen circumstances. In this event we will return all money paid by you and, wherever possible. Also we will inform you immediately if any cancellation occurs.

Your personal information
All information provided by you should be true and accurate. We will treat it confidentially and not forward it to any third party. Also we request for detailed information about you prior to your holiday. It is your responsibility to inform Active Lanka Tours of any special needs you may need. This includes your medical conditions Allergies, Food religious beliefs etc.

All of details published in the website of Holiday Lanka Travels are our well planed ideas. It could be error or omissions but we try our best to correct and give you correct information. We appreciated if any one could point out to make it re correct. We have right to arrange and adjust the published itinerary any time. If it will affect your holiday plan, we will inform you immediately in order to re correct. Also if any one would like to change the published itinerary we could make it happen. But it is not always guaranteed. But we will try our best to make it possible.

You must also ensure that your travel documents, passports, visas, driving license, insurance details and moneys are in order.

Be ware,
At present there are troubles and unforeseen incidents every corner of the planet. These include war, or threat of war, riots, civil strife, terrorism, contamination, extreme or unusual weather conditions, strikes, industrial disputes, changes to sports itineraries, natural and nuclear disasters, fire, flight cancellations or rescheduling by airlines or any similar event beyond our control. In this case please be ware that we have to reschedule or cancel the tour for your safety.

Insurance
Most important to have your travel insurance whiles you travelling with Holiday Lanka Travel. Every holidaymaker, without exception, must possess valid travel insurance, and details of the policy must be stated before travel. Individuals must ensure that this travel insurance offers acceptable cover for the type of holiday undertaken.
All the visitors are advised to take sensible precautions at all time, and before booking a holiday should take steps to familiarise themselves with up-to-date information from sources such as the Foreign Office and travel advice bureau etc.

An Emergency
This includes illness, injury and/or death. Should you, or any member of your group, suffer loss (such as baggage or valuables), serious illness, personal injury or death during your holiday, our guide representatives, or other officials will provide advice and guidance. This must be carried out in conjunction with your personal travel insurance policy. So please have your insurance fully cover to your holiday.
