Sri Lankan Curry Dish

A Sri Lankan Curry Dish for 500g Meat/Fish/Vegetable

Sri Lankan Rice and curry are famous among the visitors when visit Sri Lanka. Also most of you would like to prepare a Sri Lankan style curry when you at home. So here is the simple way to make a Curry Dish.

Ingredients,

Tea spoonfuls of dark (roasted) curry powder for Meat of Fish curry dish. Normal Curry powder (green/yellow ) for vegetable dish.

* Red Onion 1 or 2

* Small lime or lemon

* Pipes Garlic –3

* Small piece of ginger

* Tea spoon of chili powder ( if desired less or more)

* A few curry or bay leaves

* A pinch of turmeric powder

*  Small piece of Cinnamon

*  2 Cardamom pods

* clove – 2

* Cup of coconut milk / non sweetened condensed

* Salt to taste

* Two string saffron ( only if you have)

* Tea spoon of vinegar

Cut red onion fine fry them together with cinnamon, cardamom, cloves curry leaves. when the onions are brown add the finely cut, garlic and ginger. when garlic is brown, add the rest of the ingredients. Cut and washed meat/fish/ vegetable any of them, one portion one tea spoon of vinegar and stir them add one cup of coconut milk. Let cook on a medium fire till the content is cooked. Then let it simmer on a slow fire five minutes. if need thick sauce can be added 2/1 cup of yogurt. or  Three  spoon of tomato sauce.

Enjoy the curry with rice or Nan Roti and little salad.
